Sharefunding

StartDock has initiated sharefunding to engage Dockers and colleagues more in the company's growth. Until now, StartDock's growth has been financed by professional investors, but for the expansion from five to ten locations, StartDock has consciously chosen to involve (in addition to professional investors) her colleagues, Dockers, and other interested parties in the financing. Together, we can realize this growth, allowing everyone to benefit from StartDock's value growth!Want to know more about the sharefunding? Inclusivity @ StartDock

Our certification as a B Corp has brought many benefits to StartDock, but also challenges we struggle with. Inclusivity is one such example. We aim to be more inclusive, yet we simultaneously have a strong company culture with our colleagues that we are happy with and proud of. Changing this internal culture starts with introducing English-speaking colleagues and thus changing our working language from Dutch to English. This preference is understandable, and at the same time, we would like to be an employer for everyone. Recently, we also encountered colleagues who observe different holidays than the Christian holidays. For these colleagues, we have instituted a rule that allows Christian holidays to be exchanged for holidays from any other religion.We would like to get in touch with entrepreneurs or HR specialists who have made their company culture more inclusive while maintaining an existing culture, as we would like to learn from them. StartDock has a multitude of partners with whom we enjoy working and with whom we create special benefits for Dockers. We have revised our partner offering with a B Corp perspective and entered into several new partnerships, such as with Trainmore (https://trainmore.nl/), Marie Stella-Maris (https://marie-stella-maris.com/en), Robin Booked (https://www.robinbooked.nl/), and (almost finalized) The Good Roll.

CO2 Compensation

StartDock made the decision last year to compensate for the CO2 generated in our coworking spaces through Cawa (https://www.cawa.tech/). We quickly realized that this is a complicated process. Claiming that you compensate for all CO2 is not allowed without an objective assessment by a third party. Since then, we have been trying to compensate for all CO2.Meanwhile, we have been informed that energy companies providing green energy also compensate themselves when the energy is not green. This meant we were compensating for compensated energy, which is obviously not the intention. We have therefore decided to only compensate for all gas we used..
